A Real Warrior and a True American, August 4, 2012
By Professor tom Laurie
This review is from: Fahim Speaks: A Warrior-Actor's Odyssey from Afghanistan to Hollywood and Back (Kindle Edition)
I don't know what was harder for Fahim Fazli; his escape from communist Afghanistan led by a coyote (guide) over the Hindu Kush into Pakistan or his 15 year n...
avigation of the political structure in Hollywood to obtain his Screen Actors Guild (SAG) card which would allow him to get speaking roles in movies? At least in Hollywood, no one was shooting at him!

"Fahim Speaks" is a fascinating story of Fahim Fazli's life as he grew up in Kabul Afghanistan, escaped the Communist Regime to Pakistan, immigrated to the America, became a Hollywood actor and finally answered his patriotic calling and acted as a Marine interpreter back in Afghanistan. I gained a much better understanding of the complicated mission of our Marines in Afghanistan and the hurdles they face and the successes they have achieved.

This book made me laugh, cry and feel proud of my country in almost every chapter. I couldn't wait to start reading it and was sad when the story ended!

It was so refreshing to hear another side of the Afghanistan war from Hollywood. I thank Fahim Fazli and Lieutenant Colonel Mike Moffett for a better understanding of a the Afghani people and especially for their service to our country.
